Geometric, repetition, and balance.
There are ten triangles in my basla wood sculpture and each side of the triangles was measured to the exact lengths so the wood pieces are stable and able to balance on their own. I made five pairs of triangles and each pair had a different perimeter. In addition, there is another element to this sculpture which is depcited by the hot glue that is woven through and around the triangles. I used the hot glue and stretched it cross each individual triangle as it dried. This created a challenge I had to overcome because the glue would break when connecting it to each side of the triangles; I had to be very careful in creating this repetition in geometric configurations. As a result of my steady and meticulous work this basla wood sculpture was fragile yet solid an sturdy and overall created a balance between the geometric shapes, the interwined hot glue and the basla wood.

Circular, repetition, and perspectives.
I decided to use different size pieces of paper to create circular and oval shapes for my paper sculpture. The first four larger circular shapes were created as unbalanced; however, each individual shape was filled accordingly with paper that is folded in a round shape as to create an overall symmetrical sculpture. The largest circular shape was filled with smaller circular shapes and just the opposite was done for the other three smaller outside circles. Once all the paper shapes were connected with wood glue, I made the decision to dry wood glue in various other circular shapes in order to fill the negative space in the paper sculpture. The varying aspects of the sculpture was to create the ability to see many variations and perspetives by building the piece using repetition but creating the negative space to provide the ability to see varying perspectives.
